Description
There are endless applications for ground beef, but these homemade sweet fennel beef sausages are my go-to when I want something quick and easy.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 2-3 tsp Diamond Crystal kosher salt
- 2 tbsp EVOO, avocado oil, or melted butter
- 2 tsp Aleppo pepper or Silk chili
- 2 tsp dried Italian herbs
- 2 tsp fennel seeds, ground
- 1 garlic clove, finely minced or grated
- 1/2 tsp onion powder/granules
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F . Quick note, I used the air-fry setting on my toaster oven – which is just 450°F convection.
- Mix together all the ingredients in a metal bowl until thoroughly combined. Then, using about 2 tbsp of the ground beef mix, form into sausages and place on a half-sheet pan. Quick note, don’t line the sheet pan with parchment or foil, the sausages won’t crisp up well.
- Bake the sausages for 11-12 minutes or until slightly crisp on the top. They will release a fair amount of water/oil – this is totally normal.
