This golden glow morning tonic has been an essential component of my morning routine for the past few years. And for good reason.
It’s kind of like a probiotic, gut health, and energy drink combined in one.
This morning tonic drink is a combination of lemon, apple cider vinegar, Celtic sea salt, honey, ginger, and mineral water. So it’s legit packed with probiotics, vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes (which is why I like having this in the morning so I can optimize brand performance throughout the day). Will dive further into ingredient benefits in this section of the blog post.
I also feel like it aids with my digestion throughout the day (aka keeping my regular, sorry if that’s TMI) and helps with brain fatigue.
Again, this is just my observation, nothing more. But I think it’s worth incorporating into your morning routine for a few weeks and seeing the positive benefits for yourself!
Morning Tonic Ingredients
Here’s everything you’ll need to make this golden-glow morning tonic. The full recipe is in the recipe card below.
- Lemons
- Vanilla extract
- Apple cider vinegar: Love the Bragg’s apple cider vinegar.
- Honey: Typically use Beekeeper’s Naturals superfood honey for extra nutrients (it’s in the supplement section of Whole Foods).
- Fresh ginger
- Turmeric
- Black pepper: This will activate the turmeric.
- Celtic sea salt: Linking the one I use here.
- Sparkling water: Obviously use flat water if you want, I just like using sparkling water as it has added minerals that my RO water doesn’t have.
Science-Backed Ingredient Benefits
I never do anything without good reason (and evidence) to back it up. So highlighting a few health benefits below so you can see just how nutritious this morning tonic is.
- Beekeepers Naturals B-Superfood Honey
- Bee pollen: Has tons of B vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
- Royal jelly: Has numerous beneficial compounds, like acetylcholine and 10-HDA, which are linked to improving cognition and mental clarity.
- Propolis: Has 300+ compounds and is the bodyguard of the beehive. It’s been linked to supporting immune function and fighting free radical damage in the body.
- Lemons: Tons of Vitamin C which is great for immunity and energy.
- Apple cider vinegar: The mother in Bragg’s apple cider vinegar consists of prebiotics, proteins, enzymes, minerals, polyphenols, vitamins, and other compounds. All of which are great for gut health and feeding your good gut bacteria. Additionally, the acetic acid created during the fermentation process has been linked to supporting healthy blood sugar levels and healthy cholesterol levels.
- Fresh ginger & turmeric: Lumping these together because by now we all know just how beneficial turmeric and ginger are. Studies have linked both of these foods to decreasing inflammation, reducing nausea, and supporting immune function.
- Celtic sea salt: Has 74 trace minerals that most of us don’t get from our food.

how long does the tonic keep?
Yasmeen Mariyah Ali says
I tend to make it fresh every morning, but if you decide to make a big batch, it should keep well for 4-5 days!

So sorry for not getting back sooner – I just add 1/2 cup of water to the tonic.
