If you’ve ever felt personally attacked by the price of green juice, this recipe is for you!
I know I can’t be the only one who can’t fathom shelling out $12 for a small bottle of green juice that is gone in 30 seconds…like what!? This is why I wanted to create a green juice recipe that tastes even better, costs way less, and doesn’t require a juicer.
This healthy green juice recipe uses just seven ingredients and takes 15 minutes to whip up. And, unlike most green juice recipes that taste pretty bad, this sweet green juice tastes phenomenal and will have you going back for seconds.
Green Juice Ingredients
Here’s everything you’ll need to make this easy green juice!
- Granny smith apples
- Persian cucumbers – or really any type of cucumber
- Celery
- Kale – I used dino kale in this green juice, but any variety will work well
- Lemon juice
- Celtic sea salt
- Water
How to Make This Green Juice
This morning green juice is so simple to make!
Just prep all the fruits and veggies (which is the most time-consuming part), add everything into a blender, and blend on high until smooth. Pour the juice into a milk bag and strain. And that’s it; you’ve got the best green juice ever, for a fraction of the cost!
But including a detailed breakdown below of how to make this juice.
- Prep the fruits and veggies. Begin by washing the apples, celery, persian cucumber, and kale. Make sure to wash the celery well, as dirt tends to get stuck in the cracks. Next, chop the apples, celery, and cucumber into bite-sized cubes.
- Blend the juice. Add the kale at the bottom of the blender, followed by the chopped apples, celery, cucumber, lemon juice, salt, and water. Turn the blender on low, slowly ramping up the speed to medium-high. Let the juice blend for 3 minutes until smooth.
- Strain. Pour the juice into a nut milk bag and strain over a glass bowl or large jar. Once the juice is strained, pour it into a glass jar and store it in the fridge.
- Store. The juice keeps well for up to 5 days. Quick note, the juice will naturally separate after a few days, just give it a good shake, and it’ll emulsify again.
Do I Need a Juicer?
Absolutely not! That is the beauty of this green juice recipe. You can blend everything and strain it using a mesh strainer or nut milk bag.
That said, a nut milk bag will yield the best results as it’ll strain out ALL of the pulp. If you’re using a metal strainer, I’d strain the juice two times to ensure you got all the pulp out of the juice. I’ll leave the exact nut milk bag I use here.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Does straining the juice make it less nutritious? Yes and no. Essentially, straining the juice eliminates the fiber and some amounts of the nutrients found in the fibers. However, the majority of the nutrients are still in the juice! That said, you don’t have to strain the juice — just be warned that it won’t taste the best because of all the fiber. It’ll be more like a super thick fibrous smoothie.
- Is this juice healthy? Absolutely! Kale, apples, celery, and cucumber are loaded with tons of nutrients that are building blocks for our skin, immune system, and cell repair. Not to mention essential minerals for our body to function properly!
- How much is a serving of this juice? I usually have about 6-8 oz of this juice in the morning. So I’d say 1 cup is a serving!

Super easy, but my Vitamix did jump around so had to anchor with one hand. Not too sweet, tastes like it came from a juicer, fresh and yummy! I ran out of Himalayan pink salt and used the icky white stuff…cut the amount to 1/4 tsp
