Think of this melon cooler recipe as a hybrid: it’s both a green juice and a mocktail. It’s subtly sweet, with a light honeydew and cucumber flavor, with a little hint of zesty sour lime. It’s the perfect cold summer sipper!

Ingredients You’ll Need For This Melon Cooler
Consider this your grocery list!
- Honeydew: This drink heavily relies on the honeydew for both flavor and sweetness. So it’s imperative to use a super ripe honeydew (or even better, a slightly overripe melon).
- Cucumbers: I highly recommend Persian cucumbers as they have the best flavor.
- Limes: Both lime juice and zest!
- Fresh mint
- Kosher salt: Trust me, a tiny pinch of salt amplifies the flavor of this drink so well!
A Few Quick Notes
- Swap out the honeydew for any melon, such as watermelon, piel de sapo melon (aka Santa Claus melon), or any melon you have on hand.
- Feel free to skip straining this cucumber melon cooler – it doesn’t have much pulp to begin with and that way you’ll get all the fiber from the melon as well.
After you make this citrus melon cooler, you’ve got to make my sour melon spritzer – which is like the more bubbly and sparkly sister to this recipe.

Description
This melon cooler is subtly sweet, with a light honeydew and cucumber flavor, plus a little hint of zesty sour lime. It’s the perfect cold summer sipper!
Ingredients
- 1/2 medium honeydew, de-seeded and cubed
- 3 persian cucumbers, roughly chopped
- 2 limes, juiced
- 1 tbsp lime zest (about 1 medium lime)
- 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
- Pinch of kosher salt
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- Blend everything. Add all of the ingredients (honeydew, cucumber, lime juice and zest, mint, salt, and water) to a high-speed blender. Blend on medium-high for about 2-3 minutes until frothy.
- Strain and store. Strain the melon cooler over a bowl using either a nut milk bag or a fine mesh sieve*. Then pour the strained melon cooler into a glass jar and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Notes
*Feel free to skip straining this – it doesn’t have much pulp to begin with and that way you’ll get all the fiber from the melon as well.
