Creamy Lemon Tahini Dressing Ingredients

Here’s everything you’ll need for this healthy tahini dressing recipe, along with a few notes on brands I recommend for each ingredient!

  • Tahini — Soom and 365 (Whole Foods) are both great affordable brands for good quality tahini
  • Honey — either use local honey, or buy the Local Hive honey brand. If you want to make this dressing completely vegan, use maple syrup instead.
  • Lemon juice
  • Water
  • Kosher Salt — I use pink himalayan salt that has a large grain, so if you’re using a fine grain salt like table salt, Morton’s etc. use less salt!
  • Cumin powder
  • Garlic powder — if you want to make this lemon tahini dressing super garlicky, you can use 1 clove of fresh garlic instead, just make sure you mince it super fine or use a box grater to get the garlic super fine!
  • Onion powder
  • Cayenne pepper

How to Make this Lemon Tahini Dressing

This creamy tahini dressing is tangy, sweet and ultra creamy.

The best part of the dressing is that you literally stir all of the ingredients together and the dressing is done. It takes max 5 minutes to whip up!

One note, if you like your dressing on the thicker side, I would start with half the amount of water and increase it as needed.

Lastly, I recommend mixing the ingredients together with a whisk to ensure that the dressing emulsifies completely.

Super Important Note…

When you first start mixing this garlic lemon tahini dressing, you might think that it looks curdled.

Not to worry, this is totally normal. After a few seconds of vigorously mixing the dressing, you’ll start to see it emulsify and transform into a thick and creamy dressing!

How to Use this Dressing

This dressing can be used as well as dressing or as a dip. I’ll leave a few of my favorite recipes below that taste fantastic with this lemon tahini dressing.

Description

This lemon honey tahini dressing is creamy, rich, slightly spicy and has tons of tang thanks to the lemons. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a warm grain bowl, kale salad or as a fun dip for falafels.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tbsp Tahini
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 1 tsp Honey or Maple syrup
  • ½ tsp Kosher Salt
  • ¼ tsp Cumin
  • ¼ tsp Garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp Onion powder
  • ⅛ tsp Cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Simply add all of the ingredients into a jar. As you mix the dressing you'll notice that it starts to separate – this is totally normal. Continue to whisk the dressing and you’ll watch it magically emulsify together and become super creamy! You can add more water if you want the dressing thinner.
  2. Taste the dressing and adjust for salt and cayenne pepper. Enjoy!
